message-questionSwap FAQ

chevron-rightWhat is a swap?hashtag

A swap on XDEX is a simple, direct exchange of one token for another on the X1 and Solana Blockchain. Unlike centralized exchanges, swaps on XDEX are executed by decentralized smart contracts. This means transactions happen directly between users and the liquidity pool—no intermediaries required.

chevron-rightHow are swap rates calculated?hashtag

Swap rates are determined using XDEX's AMM model, which relies on predefined mathematical formulas. These formulas assess the available liquidity in each pool and adjust prices dynamically, optimizing for minimal slippage. XDEX’s routing engine efficiently identifies the best pools for execution, ensuring optimal swap rates.

chevron-rightHow Does Liquidity Work on XDEX?hashtag

Swap rates are calculated using XDEX’s Automated Market Maker (AMM) model, based on the formula:

x * y = k

As users trade and pool balances shift, token prices adjust dynamically. The XDEX router automatically finds the best pools to execute your trade for optimal pricing and lowest slippage.

chevron-rightAre there fees for swapping?hashtag

All swaps on XDEX — whether through the AMM or Aggregator — incur a flat 0.28% fee. ➡️ See the Swap Fees section for a full breakdown of how that fee is allocated across rewards and treasury.

chevron-rightWhat is price impact?hashtag

Price impact reflects how much your trade shifts the token price within the pool.

  • Larger trades or lower liquidity pools result in higher price impact and potentially less favorable execution.

chevron-rightWhat is slippage?hashtag

Slippage is the difference between your expected swap price and the actual price when the transaction is confirmed.

You can set a Slippage Tolerance in the XDEX interface:

  • 🔺 Higher Tolerance = Better chance of success, but less control over price

  • 🔻 Lower Tolerance = Tighter control, but higher risk of failed swaps

Adjust tolerance based on market volatility and pool liquidity.

chevron-rightWhat If My Swap Fails?hashtag

If your transaction fails:

  • ✅ Try increasing your slippage tolerance slightly

  • ✅ Make sure you have enough $XNT to cover gas and priority fees (we recommend keeping at least 0.05 XNT in your wallet)

chevron-rightWhy Do I Need XNT?hashtag

$XNT is required to pay gas fees on the X1 blockchain. For smooth and uninterrupted transactions, it's recommended to keep at least 0.05 XNT in your wallet at all times.

chevron-rightWhy Did I Receive Wrapped Tokens?hashtag

Some swaps may result in wrapped tokens (e.g., wXNT instead of XNT). These are 1:1 redeemable for their native asset.

To unwrap:

  • Go to the XDEX Swap interface — it will automatically detect wrapped tokens in your wallet and offer an unwrap option.
